Where we went
Kansas City, of course. Friday night we used Uber to get to a Ben Howard concert and used AirBnB to find a place to stay. Saturday we explored Kansas City. Starting off at brunch at the Farmhouse, then exploring the antique stores, wandered around the Market, and drank lots of coffee.
What we saw
Ben Howard put on an amazing show at the Uptown Theater. He is just as great as you imagined live. We also hit the jackpot at the antique mall! Not only did we find a vintage Valentine’s Day tablecloth (hello, launch party!), but we found vintage Valentine’s Day cards. Saturday was a beautiful day in KC so it was great to get out and walk around the Market. We stopped for coffee at Quay and later at the Roasterie. I found the best treasure of all at these coffee shops: a greeting card vending machine. Yep, that’s right, Easy Tiger has created a greeting card vending machine and you can find them around KC. The best part… Each card is only a buck! Naturally, I bought all the ones that weren’t sold out.
What we ate/drank:
We had Saturday morning brunch at Farmhouse. Boy, was it amazing. Two words: brunch burger. Ham patty + egg + lettuce + tomato + a salt and pepper bun + BACON CREAM CHEESE. If you ever get the chance to go to Farmhouse, please indulge in the brunch burger.
What we listened to:
Ben Howard, duh!
How it inspired us:
The beauty of this trip was overwhelming. From our host’s house to the clear, blue skies, Kansas City delivered on this trip.
How we are going to incorporate it into Write It Down:
We loved the design and decor of our host’s home. The space that they created was relaxing, yet uplifting at the same time. We hope to incorporate some of those elements into an upcoming DIY. Also, we need a stationery vending machine ASAP.
